If your student will need to miss an exam time they must pick up a form in the student services office to get this approved. We will NOT approve requests just for convenience or simply because the student has only one exam and wants to take it another day just to not have to report to school. These days are part of the regular school calendar and are considered full school days. Please be aware that Wisconsin law states that students may not have more than 10 pre-planned excused absences per school year without administrative consent. Absences may be approved for the following reasons:

  • Student has conflict with college class schedule
  • Student has a medical appointmen
  • Student has a funera
  • Other reasons may be considered - please contact a school administrator for approval.

MEDIA CENTER NEWS

New GOOGLE DOC problem with the New Year!

Problem #1
Students are randomly having issues accessing Google files. This has happened three times this week and we want you to know what to do if this happens to your students. A student receives a message that says:

  • Restricted - This website has been blocked by your Administrator
  • [File name] is not a valid short file name

Solution: Complete a ZenDesk ticket with as much information as possible. Include student email address so IT can communicate directly to you and to the student.

Problem #2
The HP G7 new student Chromebooks are experiencing some power issues.  These issues are most noticeable when the student is streaming content including YouTube.  There is not a fix for this issue at the moment. In the meantime, if a student is experiencing a freezing screen or a power shutdown, please try the following:

"Press the POWER button and the REFRESH (@) button for 5 seconds.  The computer should turn off and then turn on again." If this does not resolve the issue, a hard reset will probably be needed and the student can come to the Media Center for assistance.

Thank you for your patience while the matter is being resolved.
