Referendum At A Glance
Future funding for all Oshkosh Area Schools and our school buildings will be decided by voters in the November 3 election. Question one would renew existing funds for operating our schools, paying our staff and providing learning materials. Question two would provide funding to invest in school building improvements across the district - for safe, flexible and cost-effective schools. Learn more about what will happen if the questions are or or not approved in this Referendum At A Glance or by visiting the referendum website.
If your child was signed up for an open weight room and/or speed and agility session they will be emailed by Friday of this week with an update to their session times. Changes needed to be to how we scheduled students starting the week of September 28th.
Oshkosh West will begin holding some open gyms as well as some contact days for our sports programs. If you previously have not contacted the head coach of any sport your child is interested in participating in this school year, please visit the following link and read the information found under the open gym section to sign up your child for one of these opportunities. Thank you.

Virtual College Visits (Seniors and Juniors): Because of COVID-19 safety protocols, representatives from colleges and technical colleges will not be visiting the building to meet with students. Rise Up Program: Mental health and the impact it has on students reaching their full potential inside and outside of the classroom is crucial to consider. The Oshkosh Area School District has partnered with Catalpa Health and The Samaritan Counseling Center to provide the “Rise Up” program. Through Rise Up, the Connected Community Wellness Screen is provided to all students. Free of charge and completely voluntary, the Wellness Screen is confidential and uses a nationally recognized screening tool. If there are concerns after students complete the screening, parents/guardians will be contacted and options of available resources will be provided. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, Wellness Screen will be administered to students in their homeroom (the screening is taken on their chromebooks), but any follow up meetings will be done virtually. Further, students still have access to counselors through Catalpa Health during the school day, yet these appointments will also be conducted virtually. If you would like more information regarding Catalpa appointments or Wellness Screen, please contact the Rise Up Call Center: (920) 750-7088.

Picture re-take days have been postponed and will be rescheduled as soon as possible, based on the District's transition back to Model 3: Hybrid Learning. Additional information regarding rescheduled days will be provided as quickly as possible. No action is needed at this time from families that pre-paid as school re-take pictures will still take place this school year.
Yearbooks are on sale until December 21st. They can be purchased at the school bank or ordered online (go to Yearbookforever.com). They are $55 until Christmas. We only pre order what has been paid for. If there are extras at the end of the year, they will be $60. Pre order early, because we’re never sure how many extras we’ll have!!
If you have a student in E Academy this year, and want them to be pictured in the yearbook, you have two options: 1. You can send them to West for picture re-take days, October 8th and 9th in the morning, 2) You can send a professional picture taken by someone else, (with a solid, simple background) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Senior pictures are due October 23rd. We are looking for a head and shoulders, vertical pose; it’s okay if the pose is outdoors, or the student is wearing a hat, or holding a cat, just so it’s a head and shoulders, vertical pose. Those can be emailed to email@example.com or a wallet sized photo can be brought to the yearbook office (W10). Email Amy Karoses with any questions.
Senior tributes: Wish your graduating student well with a special, heartfelt message in this year’s yearbook. “Baby Ads” are due to the yearbook office by Christmas. Mail or email the attached form, message, and pictures to Amy.firstname.lastname@example.org.
