New Girls Wrestling Program at Oshkosh North and West High Schools

The Oshkosh Area School District is expanding athletic opportunities with a new high school girls wrestling program, a collaborative effort between Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West High Schools.

Program Details:

Co-Op Team: Combining athletes from Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year
Open to all high school girls interested in wrestling
All skill levels welcome, no experience needed
Coached by Adam Stuiber, an experienced high school coach with over 30 years of wrestling background

Meet Our Head Coach: Adam Stuiber
Coach Stuiber brings an incredible wealth of experience to our new program, with over 30 years of wrestling expertise as both a competitor and coach. His coaching background includes:

Coaching Experience: Over the past 10 years, coaching high school wrestling, football, and strength and conditioning at Oshkosh West, along with 3 years of experience coaching track and field. He has worked with both boys and girls, helping athletes grow from beginners to competitive levels.
Leadership & Mentorship: Known for building strong team cultures and mentoring young athletes, with over 10 years of experience as a physical education teacher. His approach emphasizes developing the whole athlete, focusing on character, discipline, and personal growth alongside athletic achievement.

Program Goals:
To create an environment that supports student-athletes in developing:

Physical skills and athletic ability
Personal confidence
Leadership qualities
Team collaboration

Coach Stuiber shares: "Wrestling changed my life, and I want to provide an opportunity for young athletes to grow and develop through this sport. This program is about personal development, teamwork, and discovering your potential."

Advanced Placement (AP) Testing Information

2025-26 Enrollment/Registration is Now Open!

Get Ready for the 2025-26 School Year!

The Oshkosh Area School District’s Annual Student Update (Enrollment/Registration) for returning K-12 students and for new 4K students will take place April 1 - September 1, 2025. Students must be enrolled by September 1. While the deadline is September 1, we encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible to secure your child's spot for the next school year.

Your child’s school for the 2025-2026 school year will be listed in IC. If you have recently moved or if you were involuntarily transferred due to space limitations at your home school, please be sure to check this as it may be different from where your child is currently attending.

This annual enrollment process is mandatory, and your student's place at their school will be reserved for the upcoming academic year. You'll update your demographic and contact information through the Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal.

In-Person Support: If you need in-person assistance, access to a device, or the internet, attend our Central Registration Day at Vel Phillips Middle School on August 6, 2025. More information will be provided in the coming months.
ESOL and Multilingual Support: Our English Speakers of Other Languages staff are also hosting two in-person registration support events for ESOL and multilingual families.
- April 11 from 10 AM - 3 PM at Vel Phillips Middle School

FVTC Summer Camps

Summer College Programs-Explore the Arts

The Office of Pre-College is excited to present an incredible opportunity for students to ignite their passion for the arts through the Explore the Arts dual credit program. Please review the information below.

Explore the Arts in June 2025:
The Explore the Arts program offers an enriching experience that includes classes, activities, and faculty mentorship for students passionate about art, music, theatre, and film production. This program is designed for aspiring artists who are eager to develop their artistic skills and learn about potential careers in the arts.

Choose Your Emphasis: Art, Film, Music, or Theatre

ART:

Art 111: Drawing (3 credit hours)
TBD: Art 101: 2-D Design or Art 103: 3-D Design (3 credit hours)
Weekly experiences will be provided for all members of the Arts Track cohort.

FILM:

Experience all aspects of filmmaking, including creating your own short film from start to finish. Learn about screenwriting, directing, cinematography, sound design, and editing.

The 202: Introduction to Cinema (3 credit hours)
The 262: Fundamentals of Film Production (3 credit hours)
Weekly experiences will be provided for all members of the Arts Track cohort.

MUSIC:

Participate in weekly lessons on string, woodwind, brass, percussion, or piano with UM faculty, play in both large and small ensembles, and explore music history and literature. This intensive experience will culminate in a final performance for family, friends, and community members.

1. An endorsement/recommendation letter from a public-school teacher, private teacher, community member, or professional.
2. A sample of work (e.g., monologue, musical selection, photos, artwork). Self-recorded pieces and works in progress are acceptable.
3. A statement of 100 words describing your submitted work and/or your aspirations as an artist.

From the Attendance Office

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES

Appointments/leaving building options:

Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal - You can submit preplanned absence request online!
- In IC go under More > Absence Request.
  - Please make sure to fill out all the fields with your information so we can accurately mark your student's attendance.
  - Please allow us a minimum of 1 hour notice if your student needs to leave the building early so we have time to locate your student.
Send note with student - should be brought to Student Services before appointment to get a pass.
Call in advance - If leaving voicemail, please let us know student’s name, reason for leaving and from which door you will pick student up. Call (920) 424-4090 x4 or (920) 424-4070.
Email - you are welcome to email us for excused absences. Please email kelsey.gates@oshkosh.k12.wi.us and marcia.gonzalez@oshkosh.k12.wi.us.

Note - we are often busy on phones or helping students, so if it’s a last minute request, a call is probably the best option. We check voicemails often.

Student Services will write a pass for the student to leave and will have it delivered to the student during one of the classes before the time they are to leave. Students can leave out of Door 38 (in front by flagpole) or Door 24 (gym doors) ONLY, please let us know which door to mark on the pass. The student must sign out on the kiosk at the specified door and can leave the building.

If your student is returning from an appointment, or arriving late, they MUST sign in at either door on the kiosk so we can update attendance. They can return through either Door 24 and Door 38.

If there is an appointment that comes up with short notice, please let us know ASAP, it sometimes takes a bit to locate students and get them a pass to leave.

Safety Information

In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, all guests at Oshkosh West High School need to have an appointment to enter the building. Guests must bring a photo ID which will be scanned upon entrance. Guests are encouraged to park in the street parking on Eagle Street across from the school and enter Door 38. If parking is full, guests may park in the visitor spaces in the large lot at the corner of Taft and Eagle Streets and enter Door 24.
Did you know...West has over 100 cameras inside and outside of our school, so most of the time, if we get a report about something taking place, we are able to use the camera video recordings to get to the bottom of things. The cameras inside the building are located in halls and common areas like the cafeterias and gyms. We encourage students and parents to report anything that might be concerning. We do take anonymous reports as well, so if you don't feel comfortable leaving your name, that is fine. We always investigate tips and reports that come to us.
Speak Up, Speak Out Tipline: Created by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, students, parents, school staff, or any community member can anonymously submit a school safety concern or threat. SUSO resource center staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators and law enforcement. Once you submit your tip, please keep the chat window open to answer any questions the resource center specialist might have for you to get more actionable information for school administration or police.
