All grades at Oshkosh West are participating in an Attendance Challenge April 28-May 14th. The PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) team is tracking attendance and the grade with the highest number of full classes attended (the least amount of class periods missed- this includes tardies), will win a grade level hour long w-hour to attend a hypnotist show in the auditorium. All other grades will have an hour long W-hour.

• April 28th-May 14th - Attendance will be tracked
• W-hour: May 16th - Hypnotist in Auditorium for winning grade

Each student that attends the Hypnotist will have the opportunity to participate in the "show". If you do not want your student(s) to participate, please contact Kelly Nigl at 920-424-4090 x3002 or kelly.nigl@oshkosh.k12.wi.us to

On April 25, WIAA member schools approved allowing student-athletes to receive compensation for their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). There are many questions surrounding this new landscape and in order to help student-athletes and families understand the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of this change, the Fox Valley Association has partnered with Influential Athlete, a strategic partner in NIL education, to offer an informational workshop.

The workshop will be held on Sunday, May 4 at 6 p.m. at Pickard Auditorium at Neenah Middle School (former Neenah High School, 1275 Tullar Road). The workshop is only open to student-athletes from Fox Valley Association schools and will not be livestreamed or recorded. The workshop will assist student-athletes with the following:

• NIL Basics – Understand what NIL is and how to navigate it while staying compliant to protect your eligibility.
• The Power of Influence – Recognize the influence you already have and learn how to leverage it for NIL opportunities.
• Personal Branding – Understand what a personal brand is and how to build an authentic one to set you apart in the NIL space.
• Partnerships – Learn how to find and manage strategic partnerships to maximize your NIL potential in the future.

This workshop will highlight the steps student-athletes can begin to take now to best position themselves when their window of NIL opportunity opens. Preparing early will set a strong foundation for success as they move forward.

This one-hour session will conclude with a brief Q&A, providing time for attendees to ask questions and gain clarity on the topics discussed.

 Student-athletes and their parents are encouraged to attend. This workshop will be an invaluable opportunity to learn how to effectively approach NIL, preparing for college athletics and beyond.

• YRBS (Youth Risk Behavior Survey) will take place on May 12th (this was a reschedule from a previous date)
  • The YRBS covers many different areas broadly related to health and wellness. The YRBS focuses on health-related behaviors that contribute to the leading cause of death, disability, and social problems during both adolescence and adulthood.

The Oshkosh Area School District’s Annual Student Update (Enrollment/Registration) for returning K-12 students and for new 4K students will take place April 1 - September 1, 2025. Students must be enrolled by September 1. While the deadline is September 1, we encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible to secure your child's spot for the next school year.

Your child’s school for the 2025-2026 school year will be listed in IC. If you have recently moved or if you were involuntarily transferred due to space limitations at your home school, please be sure to check this as it may be different from where your child is currently attending. 

This annual enrollment process is mandatory, and your student's place at their school will be reserved for the upcoming academic year. You'll update your demographic and contact information through the Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal.

Explore the Arts in June 2025: 
The Explore the Arts program offers an enriching experience that includes classes, activities, and faculty mentorship for students passionate about art, music, theatre, and film production. This program is designed for aspiring artists who are eager to develop their artistic skills and learn about potential careers in the arts.

ART:

• Art 111: Drawing (3 credit hours)
• TBD: Art 101: 2-D Design or Art 103: 3-D Design (3 credit hours)
